About Rail

Laying tracks for thought.

Information today comes in overwhelming quantities, at overwhelming speed, and in a bewildering mix. Through my writing—through what I see, experience, and think—I hope to connect facts, reasoning, and judgment, so that thought can move steadily forward, reach higher, and go deeper, even amid the constant flood of information.

Like rails supporting a train, giving it the steadiness to travel far. That is why this site is called Rail.

A personal note

Over the years, I’ve moved through many places, continually reshaped by new information and new ways of seeing. Some encounters shake you enough to make you rethink the whole world.

After the upheaval, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Sit down. Write with care. Do the work with care.

Think a question through. Write a sentence clearly. Do a task well. Take joy in writing and doing things well, for their own sake.
